Trust and safety
How verification works
Givolve reviews every need before it goes live. There are two levels of verification. Both are visible on every need page, so givers know exactly what has been checked.
Tier 1, Identity Verified
The person posting the need has confirmed their real identity through a government-issued ID. This tells givers the person behind the need is who they say they are.
Tier 2, Story Verified
The Givolve team has reviewed supporting documents for the need itself, such as medical bills, repair estimates, or eviction notices. This tells givers the situation described is real and current.
How we prevent fraud
Every need is reviewed by a real person before it is published. We check for duplicate accounts, inconsistent details, and known fraud patterns. If something does not add up, the need is held for additional review.
Givers can also report any need that looks suspicious. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours, and needs that violate our policies are removed immediately.
How item claims work
When someone donates a free item, they choose how it gets claimed. They can let people apply with a reason and then pick who receives it. Or they can set it to first come first served. Either way, the giver stays in control of who gets their item.
